About Online Movement Classes with Margaret

In a previous life I was a yoga teacher for 14 years, in my current life I am a practicing physical therapist. Honestly I haven't been sure for a while now, really since I graduated from PT school in 2018, what exactly to call the thing I teach. I guess it doesn't really have a name yet? It is still a work in progress as I continue to figure out the most effective and enjoyable way to blend the many useful things I learned studying yoga for over a decade, for example how to take a deep breath, and all of the new things I learn every week in my capacity as a doctor of physical therapy, for example what the current research is on the relationship between hamstring length and force production at the knee joint and possible implications for arthritic knee pain. Currently this exploration continues in the form of my hybrid (online and in person) movement class. Each of my classes is informed by my interest in anatomy nerding, body respect, not taking life too seriously, the natural sciences, chilling the fuck out, kinesiology, meditation, and trying not to be an A-hole.

What DO I NEED FOR class?

 - a computer or cell phone with the Zoom app downloaded, click HERE to visit Zoom’s website

- yoga mat or a rug or blanket on the floor with enough space around it for you to stretch out your arms

 - massage balls (I recommend Yoga Tune Up Balls), tennis balls or racket balls will also work fine

- a sense of humor

- loose fitting or stretchy, breathable, athletic-type clothing, pajama pants are preferable to blue jeans, your clothes just have to be at least a little more flexible than you are
